[new clip] CR

( It's not over yet! )
[This Pokegear has not been turned on for a while. When it did, it started recording a live feed of a certain blond-haired supersoldier lying on his stomach in bed, his face smushed into the pillow. He was possibly drooling on it, and snoring softly.]
--hhhhnk.
[He shifted, and his arm rolled off of the edge of the bed. The sudden drop of one of his limbs woke him, and he lifted his head sleepily from the pillow.]
Hmm?
[Blinking owlishly, Liquid fumbled around the bedside table. The feed was briefly filled with the sight of his calloused palm, then a moment later it was filled with the sight of Liquid's sleepy face.]
... [He peered at the device.] ...When the hell did it get to be March?
[Guess who's been asleep for the past month?]

[twenty-third bullet] Video
Nov. 8th, 2011 06:57 pm[When the feed clicked on, it was showing an image of Liquid sitting on what appeared to be the edge of a building. It was evening, and the sun was in just the right place so that the sky behind him was lit with red and orange, and made his hair blaze like a golden halo around his head.]
[It was all very dramatic and it probably wasn't coincidental that he was sitting in that exact spot at that exact moment. Liquid always did have a flair for drama.]
There's something that I want to know, from those of you who have more knowledge in the subject than I.
[He kept looking out from whatever high place he was perched at this time, not looking down at the camera; the light and the angle made for a statuesque picture, and stop posing already and get to the point Liquid gdit.]
Let's say that, for instance, that you know of the future that waits for you back in your own world. And let us say that it isn't a future that you're particularly fond of. Perhaps things don't play out how you want them to, perhaps people are harmed that you would rather have saved, or perhaps you've... simply decided that the goals you had then are no longer ones that you hold stock in.
I know that it's possible that we won't remember this place when we return. I don't care about that. I want to know what happens when you start to change the timeline like that, when you try to change the course of fate. I am no theoretical physicist, nor even much of a scientist-- my knowledge and my skills are solely of a practical nature. I don't know anything about quantum or string theory or the space-time continuum. Quite frankly, I really don't care about all the picky little details of it. That's something that Hal would care about, not me. He has the mind for it.
I suppose it's useless to keep going on this hypothetical charade. This isn't a hypothetical situation at all. I have learned of my future, I deem it unacceptable, and I am going to change it, and even the hand of God himself won't be able to stop me.
[He grins mirthlessly.]
I just want to know what I'm going to have to break in order to make it work.

[twenty-second bullet] private for Otacon
Oct. 8th, 2011 09:32 pmIn the month that Otacon had been back from their world again, five years older and thirty years more jaded, Liquid had been wondering what had gone on during that time that had changed the engineer so much. He had gotten bits and pieces of the story, vague things that Hal had decided to tell him, but most of it remained a mystery. Most of it was something that Hal refused to tell him about.
( In which there are issues everywhere. )
( In which there are issues everywhere. )
[Liquid is in the process of learning a valuable lesson.]
[Probably several valuable lessons, actually.]
[One of them was that power-washing a Gyarados, while a good idea in theory, was somewhat easier said than done when put into practice. Especially when the Gyarados in question was Jörmungandr, who seemed to be more interested in trying to eat the jet of water than staying still and getting clean.]
Dammit, Jörmungandr, stop that!
[RARGH DEFEAT THE WATER]
[It was an all-out war against the pressure-washer. If Jörmungandr had been a puppy or something small, this might have been cute. He was, however, a twenty-one foot tall, five-hundred-odd pound giant water dragon, which made things less on the 'cute' side and more on the 'holy shit don't crush me' side.]
Jörmungandr, if you don't--
[A DARK SHADOW FALLS.]
...oh hell.
[WHUMP.]

[After the disaster that was the Shedinja fiasco, Liquid and Otacon had made it to Ecruteak. And Liquid found that he was unfortunately utterly broke after spending most of his money getting back on the engineer's good side in Goldenrod. Wining and dining a nerd was surprisingly expensive, even if the aforementioned nerd was a lightweight and a cheap date.]
[At the moment, he had approximately no cash. Which was why he was standing in the Pokemon Center, clad once again in those glorious pink scrubs that he'd endured during his first few weeks of being in Johto.]
[Gather round and be amazed, for Liquid is wearing a shirt.]
( He is also bored, and a bored Liquid isn't something that anyone wants. )

[This was a fight that had been a long time in coming. Otacon had gotten a badge from Whitney ages ago, and Liquid had only put it off because he had been sent on a wild-goose chase after his father. If it hadn't been for that, he would have defeated her right after and gotten yet another badge for his growing collection.]
You want to battle? I'm warning you-- I'm good!
[Anyone who knew Liquid would know that he couldn't refuse a challenge like that. She was good, huh? Well, he'd show her just how good he was.]
[Protip: Challenging Liquidmay will lead to injuries, fainted Pokemon, and homoerotic shirtless fistfights. Do not try this at home.]
[Five minutes later, Liquid's Machoke was victorious over all of Whitney's Pokemon. This is what happens when you fight Pokemon who are ten levels higher than yours. There was a moment of two of silence after her Miltank was withdrawn; her lower lip started to wibble and her eyes were looking suspiciously wet, and then...]

[fifteenth bullet] video/action
Jan. 2nd, 2011 11:17 pm[When Liquid tossed the Pokegear onto the bed next to the egg he'd mysteriously gotten for Christmas, it turned on and started the feed. The egg had been wrapped up to keep it warm, and now it was making little cracking noises and was rocking slightly where it lay; Liquid had already hatched one Pokemon by now, so he wasn't too concerned. The last one worked itself out on its own, so he figured that this one would do the same. He'd just let it do its hatching thing and would only interfere if something seemed to go wrong.]

[fourteenth bullet] action for Goldenrod
Dec. 26th, 2010 04:08 pm((ooc: First off, this post is backdated to the morning of Christmas Day, because Liquid is a Christmas miracle. It also takes place after this, which will eventually be finished, I promise because what are timelines seriously . Just fyi, Liquid fought Big Boss and ended up falling off of the top of Sprout Tower, busting himself up a bit in the process. Fun tiems.))
Christmas morning dawned bright and clear; the weather was fair and mild, without a cloud in the sky. The snow lay in a thick, heavy blanket of white over the ground, only adding to the Winter Wonderland atmosphere. No one could have asked for a more picturesque Christmas morning-- it looked like something out of a holiday card.
Except, of course, for the Gyarados making its way toward the Goldenrod city limits, carrying on his back two rather weary and worse-for-the-wear passengers. Otacon was under the weather from having pursued Liquid through a blizzard while he went after his father, and Liquid was almost entirely black and blue from the actual fighting that occurred and his hundred-foot plunge from the top of Sprout Tower. While he was a man who could-- and had-- endured many things, that high of a fall would cause even him a few problems. One such problem being his broken arm, which was currently splinted, bound up, and was resting in a makeshift sling he'd made of bandages.
( And who could tell the dogs from the men? )

[thirteenth bullet] action
Dec. 18th, 2010 08:55 pm[Liquid had gotten tired of waiting in Violet for his father to show his face. Despite the fact that the snow was coming down so thick that he could hardly see two feet in front of his face and the temperatures weren't climbing out of the low teens, the British soldier left the safety of his hotel room in pursuit of Big Boss. He would find him, come hell, high water, or, in this case, a blizzard.]
[He would find him. He had to find him. His father was out here somewhere, the cycloptic bastard, and Liquid was going to find him and tear out his heart. Or something. He really hadn't decided what he was going to do very far beyond 'fight and win'.]
[Liquid bowed his head and hunched his shoulders against the wind, plowing his way through the blizzard like an icebreaker ship through a frozen sea. His father was close, he was somewhere around here-- he could feel it in his bones.]
[Or maybe that was just frostbite. Hard to tell.]
--!
[Liquid tripped over something dark in the snow.]

[twelfth bullet] [Action -- Goldenrod]
Dec. 8th, 2010 10:48 am[No one here in the Pokemon world had ever seen Liquid like this.]
[There was something different in the way he walked, the tenseness in his shoulders, the fists balled at his sides. His face was cold with fury and hate; he moved with sharp snaps of his limbs. He was, quite literally, a ticking time-bomb, and he was headed out of Goldenrod and back toward the forest. He wasn't going to stay here.]
[Not since he arrived.]
[His father.]
[The man he had loved and hated all his life. The man who had told him, day in and day out, that he was inferior, that he was worthless trash that was fit only be thrown away. The man that he had tried to emulate since he was a child; the perfection that was forever out of his reach.]
[And Liquid was going to destroy him.]
[It was the only way to prove his worth. If he could kill his father, then he would prove for once and for all that he was worthy of being his father's son. It would prove that he was more than just the leftovers of a science experiment, that he had value beyond his flawed genetics. He strove for the throne of the Father like Lucifer, and he would either seize it or be cast from Heaven in the trying.]
[When he reached the edge of the city, he released Jörmungandr; the Gyarados reared up to its full length, stretching its long body in the cold air. Then it brought its head back down to be level with Liquid, and he gave the Pokemon a brisk rub underneath the chin.]
I need to travel back to New Bark, Jörmungandr. There's a fight waiting for me there.
[The Pokemon seemed to understand, and lowered his head further until it was resting on the snowy ground; Liquid climbed up onto it.]

[tenth bullet] video
Oct. 4th, 2010 10:56 pm[When the video feed turned on, there was Liquid; at least, it was Liquid when viewed from a sharp upward angle, the screen partly obscured by grass. The Pokegear had apparently fallen out of his pocket and turned itself on, and he was unaware of it. In his hand was a yellow tennis ball, which he was teasingly tossing up and down in front of Huan; the hellhound was leaping back and forth in front of him, advancing and retreating and otherwise looking extremely excited because OMG BALL BALL BALL WAAAAANT.]

( Won't you take me where my feet feel wholly in their own time? )
[When Liquid was sane again, he found himself in the middle of a forest without the slightest indication of how he'd gotten there. The walls of the prison came had simply burned off like fog, leaving him confused and disoriented and exhausted beyond belief.]
...?
[Had he never left at all? Was that why he was covered in mud when he'd been in the desert, why there were tears in his trousers at brush-height and scratches that he'd never remembered getting? He looked down at himself and hardly recognized the body he saw; it was a good twenty or so pounds lighter, caked with dust and dried mud, filthy with sweat and blood. His lip was split and chapped, his hair was a matted, filthy mess of leaves, tangles, and brown roots growing in. He was still clutching a butcher knife in his hand like it was the Holy Grail.]

[eighth bullet] Action
Sep. 18th, 2010 03:14 amThere was something wrong with this fog.
Liquid was taking a walk through Azalea, gathering his thoughts and keeping himself busy while he and Otacon were in town. He didn't like fog to begin with-- it wrecked hell on his visibility and got him cold and clammy. It was already afternoon and the sun hadn't burned it off yet, something that annoyed him to no end; it was like the world was locked in a hazy, wet twilight. And Liquid couldn't see two feet past his nose in it.
He heard something behind him; footsteps, the sound of combat boots on a cement floor, with the slight echo from a narrow, dusty corridor.
( Relive the pictures that have come to pass )
((OOC: Liquid has just had a fun freakout in the middle of Azalea. He'll flee the scene after dealing some nonlethal cuts to the unfortunate police who were called to deal with the crazy big guy. Approach if you like, but this is a huge tl;dr post and there's no obligation. Also, he's batshit and liable to attack anyone who comes near.))

[It was time for Liquid to leave.]
[He'd been in Violet City for long enough, and he'd been with his previous companions for far too long-- it was better for him to go. He needed a some time by himself, anyway, to think through things a little and maybe sort some things out in his head. Heather had given him a lot to think about, whether he wanted to or not.]
[And it was better, anyway, to leave Otacon with Snake. That was who he'd been waiting for, after all, and he ought to go with him for the rest of the time that they were here. Snake could keep him out of trouble with Heather's help, and everything would be fine.]
[He'd be alone again, but that was fine-- he was used to it. And he wouldn't feel so weak if he was by himself, relying on himself again. He didn't need anyone, after all. All he needed was the strength of his own arm, and he'd be fine. He ignored the looks that Huan kept shooting him, the ones he'd come to think of as the 'you're being stupid' looks that the devil-mutt so often shot at him. The damned thing was smarter than it appeared.]
[It was time to start again. He put the city to his back and stepped out onto Route 32.]
